The City of Anderson is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Engineer to join our team responsible for maintaining and operating our public broadcasting system. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our television studio, including the maintenance of equipment, programming logs, and signal quality.

This role requires a strong technical background in broadcast engineering, with experience in operating and maintaining complex broadcast equipment. You will work closely with our production team to ensure that all broadcasts are transmitted smoothly and without interruption. Your attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot issues quickly will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities as a Telecommunications Engineer will include:

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting broadcast equipment, including transmitters, receivers, and automation systems
  • Ensuring high-quality signal transmission and reception
  • Scheduling and coordinating broadcasts, including programming logs and transmitter readings
  • Installing and testing new equipment and software
  • Collaborating with the production team to ensure smooth broadcasts

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Engineering or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in broadcast engineering, preferably in a public broadcasting environment
  • Strong knowledge of FCC regulations and industry standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $47,746 and $52,745 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including medical insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
