Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions within the unit/department during the assigned shift.

In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in line with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to foster an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.


Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.

- Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with the management team.

- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to cultivate a teamwork environment that supports improved outcomes and service.

- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.

- Support the facility's efforts to enhance engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.

- Provide recommendations regarding the interviewing, selection, and training of new staff.

- Recommend and implement actions related to training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitive organization.

- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:
- Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Preferred experience in Ortho/Neuro nursing and at least one year of Med/Surg nursing experience.
- Associate's Degree in nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Certification as an Ortho/Neuro Nurse preferred.
- Leadership and management experience is highly desirable.
