Job Summary

ReqOverflow is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Obstetrics to lead our postpartum department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.
  • Stay abreast of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations and actively pursue efforts to achieve.
  • Ensure adherence to standards of care and develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with all legal/regulatory standards.
  • Develop care coordination policies and procedures to promote improved quality, safety, and efficiency in care.
  • Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration within and across departments and ensure staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.
  • Direct nursing practice and unit operations, developing policies, procedures, and nursing standards to ensure patient and family needs are assessed, met, and evaluated.
  • Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience and instill accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions.
  • Leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization, ensuring employees are recognized, valued, and supported.
  • Collaborate with administrative team and physicians to enhance existing services or develop new service offerings.
  • Participate in the annual budget process, including input into department revenue and expense forecasts, staffing, and supply and equipment needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare
