We are seeking a highly skilled Polymer Research Scientist to join our team at the University of Georgia's New Materials Institute. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for conducting experiments involving goal-specific polymer synthesis, including design strategies, processing methods, and synthesis manipulation and optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our research team to develop and implement commercial biomaterial and bioprocessing applications.
- Conduct analytical and application-specific performance testing of polymers to evaluate parameters such as purity, compositional integrity, shelf life, and environmental limits of use.
- Perform laboratory and equipment maintenance, ordering, and maintenance of laboratory supplies.
To be successful in this role, you will require technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. You will also possess a solid understanding of applied chemistry techniques and concepts.
