Job Summary

The Electrical Foreman 1 is a key member of our team, responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of a crew of electricians, apprentices, and laborers on a job site. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure that all work is completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage mid-sized to large projects, overseeing a team of 15 or more personnel.
  • Collaborate with senior management, supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters related to work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Schedule projects in logical steps to ensure timely completion and budgeting.
  • Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities related to the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Direct and supervise workers, delegating responsibilities to foremen and electrical technicians, and mentoring electrical technicians II and III to prepare them for promotion.
  • Monitor project budgets to ensure positive cash flow and maintain profitability.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.
Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience working in the electrical industry, including 2 years serving as a project foreman.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Possess a Journeyman Electrician license, preferred.
  • Experience working with the Company's management systems, such as scheduling, job cost reports, estimating, safety documentation, and quality control.
  • Experience overseeing and approving monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections.
  • Effectively plan manpower and possess leadership skills to meet project objectives without significant labor spikes or overtime costs.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Must have their own tools.
  • This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with our policy.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
Abilities
  • Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
  • Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
  • See details at close range.
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
