Shipping and Packing Coordinators play a crucial role in ensuring that products are securely wrapped and packaged for safe transport and storage. These professionals are tasked with choosing the right packaging materials to maintain product quality while also considering the size and weight for shipping efficiency, compliance with export regulations, and meeting customer and carrier specifications. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day Shift
Key Responsibilities
To excel in this position, individuals must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the following essential duties: Securely packages items to prevent damage during transit and storage; inspects shipments to confirm they meet customer specifications and adhere to carrier regulations, export laws, and customs documentation. Confirms order accuracy and keeps precise records of shipments; compares identifying details and counts, weighs, and measures products to ensure they align with bills of lading and customer orders. May receive, unpack, assess, and store incoming materials; responsible for accurately documenting counts, weights, conditions, and storage locations for received goods. Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and other material handling equipment to move items; may utilize overhead or jib cranes; may load and unload goods from trucks (Forklift certification is required upon hiring). Completes necessary paperwork in accordance with internal processes and quality standards. Maintains a tidy, organized, and safe work environment. Ensures equipment is functioning properly and safely; performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance as needed. Follows instructions consistently and takes responsibility for personal actions and work outcomes. Adheres to relevant manufacturing processes, work protocols, and supervisory directives. Complies with safety guidelines and procedures; proactively identifies potential hazards and collaborates with management to mitigate risks and ensure workplace safety. Performs additional tasks as assigned. Regular on-site attendance is mandatory. May be required to operate company vehicles for receiving and delivering materials while adhering to all traffic regulations. Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent is necessary. At least 6 months of experience in a warehouse setting, including stocking, order picking, and/or packaging is required. Forklift experience with a proven record of safe operation is preferred. Familiarity with export compliance and hazardous materials shipping is advantageous. Essential Skills and Competencies Ability to read and accurately interpret pick tickets and verify counts with precision. Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability in accurate counting, measuring, and recordkeeping. Capability to read and document measurements within a 1/4 inch increment. Professional written and verbal communication skills (English). Consistently legible handwriting (English). Physical Requirements and Work Environment
To fulfill the essential functions of this role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations: Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, with the ability to stand for extended periods while performing job duties. Frequently lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds. Regularly climb steps, stairs, or ladders. Frequently bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel. Accurately distinguish colors, letters, and numbers. Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices. Use hands and fingers to manually inspect, assess, lift, rotate, and package items. Visual ability to gauge distances and recognize obstacles to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Working Conditions
Work is conducted in a manufacturing warehouse environment where conditions may vary significantly; employees may encounter: Moderate noise levels (generally). Occasional exposure to excessive noise, requiring hearing protection. Dust, smoke, fumes/vapors (occasionally). Extreme temperatures (occasionally). Sharp tools such as box cutters, scissors, and other packaging instruments. Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes, and other machinery. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and safety footwear may be necessary.
