Cybersecurity Compliance Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Information System Security Officer to ensure the security compliance of our systems at Base-2 Solutions, LLC. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders including application leads, system administrators, and developers to achieve and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO).
Key Responsibilities- Engage with application leads and technical teams to ensure systems meet security compliance standards.
- Adhere to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for comprehensive testing and monitoring.
- Maintain and update Xacta documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Security Test Plans (STPs), and Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs).
- Facilitate the integration of security artifacts such as STIG checklists and ACAS scans.
- Assist in the implementation of STIG checklists and address any identified vulnerabilities.
- Provide guidance to ensure security compliance is integrated into system development.
- Support security assessment activities and respond to inquiries from the security assessment team.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience is necessary; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Relevant experience may substitute for education: 13 years for a High School diploma, 11 years for an Associate's degree, 7 years for a Master's degree, and 5 years for a PhD.
- Experience with Xacta and related security compliance tools.
- Proven ability to develop and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance and protect information assets.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments and identifying system vulnerabilities.
- Expertise in developing and implementing strategies to mitigate security risks.
- Strong capability in monitoring systems for security breaches and suspicious activities.
- A successful history of responding to security incidents and implementing corrective measures.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience in conducting audits and assessments to ensure compliance with security requirements.
