Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

We are in search of an inspiring educator to lead our students on their journey toward college and future success. Our educators are dynamic leaders both inside and outside the classroom, passionate about engaging with students, families, and the community. We are specifically looking for a teacher to manage one of our Cognitive/Autism Support classrooms.

Your Role Will Include:
  • Designing, internalizing, and adapting lesson plans in alignment with the academic curriculum, collaborating closely with the grade-level team.
  • Utilizing data to effectively teach and ensure mastery of academic skills.
  • Engaging with students, families, and colleagues to foster an environment conducive to student growth.
  • Establishing a solid foundation for all classes and implementing effective classroom management strategies.
  • Assisting with diagnostic and progress monitoring assessments throughout the school.
  • Tracking student progress and modifying teaching strategies to ensure all students achieve learning objectives.
  • Maintaining student performance records and leveraging data to inform lesson planning.
  • Participating in school, departmental, and parent meetings.
  • Engaging in school events, activities, and programs beyond regular class hours.
Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
  • A belief in the limitless potential of every student.
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (official transcripts confirming degree conferred are required prior to employment).
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 if graduation occurred after 2016, or a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 if the degree was conferred before 2016.
  • State teaching certification must be completed or in the process of completion.
  • Expertise in the subject matter.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience, demonstrating a commitment to working with students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • A proven track record of success in the classroom.
  • A collaborative approach to teaching and learning.

KIPP NJ offers a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes healthcare, retirement plans, a school-issued laptop, and transportation benefits for TEAMmates commuting from the Philadelphia area.

Newly hired lead teachers at KIPP NJ receive competitive salaries based on prior experience and certification requirements, with a salary range of $63,000-$101,000+ for teaching positions, along with opportunities to earn up to $5,500 annually in performance-based pay.
