Position Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Load Safety Coordinator to enhance our team. This role primarily involves overseeing and directing the movement of vehicles, pedestrian traffic, and mobile equipment within the facility's tipping area, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming and outgoing traffic in the tipping area, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Assist customers with directional cues and ensure safe dumping practices.
  • Utilize hand signals and flags to guide vehicle and pedestrian movements.
  • Employ a whistle and two-way radios to communicate hazards to equipment operators.
  • Ensure vehicles are parked safely and maintain a secure environment in the tipping area.
  • Prevent unauthorized scavenging activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and directing them appropriately.
  • Report hazardous materials to the Supervisor for proper handling.
  • Maintain regular communication with Supervisors regarding safety concerns.
  • Conduct fire watch duties as required throughout the shift.

  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage stressful situations effectively.
  • Assertiveness to address and manage safety issues as they arise.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and company policies.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and expertise in job functions.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, supervisors, and customers.
  • Proficient in using two-way radios for communication.

Qualifications:

  • Valid identification for employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Capability to differentiate between various materials.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in English and/or Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

This position typically involves a Monday through Friday work schedule, with exposure to outdoor conditions and frequent changes in operational needs.
