Job Title: Dental Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Care Specialist to join our team at Comprehensive Community Health Centers Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing clinical dental services and preventive dental care in a community health center setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients, diagnose dental/oral conditions, and provide appropriate treatment or referrals.
  • Record patient-dentist transactions and maintain accurate dental records.
  • Complete referrals, data collections instruments, and other required paperwork.
  • Educate patients on oral health-related conditions and promote disease prevention.
  • Participate in dental staff meetings and committees as assigned.
  • Prepare reports as requested by the Medical Director.
  • Assist in continuing education, on-the-job training, and staff orientation.
  • Adhere to dental department policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance and health education to the community as needed.
  • Participate in short- and long-term program planning for the dental department.
  • Travel as necessary to fulfill CCHC's needs and attend meetings to represent the dental department.
  • Coordinate and integrate dental programs and services with other corporate programs.
  • Comply with federal, state, local, and center rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures.
  • Supervise dental assistants and hygienists in the absence of the Medical Director.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of an accredited general practice residency program is preferred.
  • Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of California.
  • DDS/DMD and DEA registration.
