Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our team at LCG, Inc. as a member of our IT support team. The successful candidate will provide technical support to our clients, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide end-user support for a variety of IT-related issues, including desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.
  • Configure and optimize workstations and laptops with standard desktop images and install applications.
  • Set up and distribute cellular devices, including activation, suspension, and updates.
  • Provide technical support for network and desktop printers.
  • Assist users with MS Teams and Zoom technical issues.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to end-users on standard core applications.
  • Document all tickets with current status, customer communications, and full description of the problem/resolution.
  • Communicate updates to customers regarding problem status and projected completion time.
  • Adhere to official property management procedures for all equipment installs, moves, loans, or accessing.
  • Support and troubleshoot PIV authentication.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
  • Participate in projects evaluating, testing, and introducing new technology and approaches.
  • Review and maintain approved procedures and quality standards.
Requirements
  • College diploma or university degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in Service Now ticket system.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience troubleshooting Microsoft workstation operating systems.
  • 1-2 years of related IT/telecommunications experience.
  • Prior experience with VOIP.
  • Knowledge of basic networking protocols, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, WAN/LAN TCP/IP.
  • Certifications in A+, MCSE, or MCPs in current Microsoft workstation, server, and applications preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware, including Dell computers and laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Experience with desktop operating systems, including Windows 10.
  • Application support experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 products.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Mobile Device Management software experience.
  • Avaya System Administration experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Excellent written English communication skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $48,000 to $66,000 per year, benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary for this role is $57,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG, Inc. is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
