We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will be responsible for performing patient check-in and check-out procedures, processing financial information, and providing patient billing information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with revenue cycle and financial audit guidelines.
- Demonstrate effective computer skills, file management, and customer service skills.
- Accurately perform patient check-in and check-out procedures, process financial information, and respond to billing questions.
- Schedule patient appointments, enter demographic and clinical information into the system, and coordinate with other parties.
- Order and maintain clinical supplies, office supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with established safety and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, OSHA, and infection prevention policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate good customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, and visitors.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- No licensure or certification required.
- Prefer completion of an accredited medical administrative assisting program and previous experience in a medical office.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The work schedule is day shift, and the location is UNC Health Care in Pittsboro, NC.
