Position Overview:
The Lead Facilities Maintenance Engineer is responsible for executing preventive maintenance and repair tasks related to HVAC and mechanical systems across a designated area. This role involves hands-on responsibilities to ensure compliance with Jones Lang LaSalle's operational standards and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including safety protocols.
2. Follow established procedures for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
3. Engage in continuous training programs focused on technical skills, safety, and operational processes.
General Maintenance Duties:
Conduct various interior maintenance tasks such as installing fixtures, repairing office furniture, and managing general upkeep.
Specialized Tasks:
Perform additional responsibilities including painting, locksmith services, and addressing tenant requests. Maintain lighting systems and assist the operations team with building and equipment maintenance. Execute minor plumbing repairs and assist in moving office furniture and equipment as needed.
Facility Inspections:
Conduct regular inspections and report on the condition of facilities. Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in operating CMMS work order systems and possess a comprehensive understanding of safe work practices, particularly in high-risk environments. Demonstrate the ability to assess and manage risks effectively.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a relevant technical training program is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in building maintenance, HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a vocational degree program or apprenticeship.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and refine processes and documentation.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and local building codes.
- Hands-on expertise in maintaining commercial HVAC systems, including cooling towers, pumps, motors, and associated electrical systems.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires frequent physical activity, including walking, climbing, bending, and lifting. Candidates must be able to work at heights, operate tools, and lift heavy objects safely.
