About This Role

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Interventional Radiology. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for preparing patients for and assisting with interventional radiology procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiologic technology and excellent communication skills. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment to complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality standards are met
  • Perform quality control procedures and notify management of any issues
  • Assist with departmental operations, including inventory management and staff scheduling
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligible to register within 90 days of employment
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Preferred: Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. A high level of physical stamina is required to perform the duties of this role.
