Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with clinical duties such as taking vital signs, giving injections, and performing simple diagnostic tests.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and exams, and maintain examination rooms at an outpatient care site.
  • Recognize and treat emergency patients as a priority, and assist with patient examinations and treatments.
  • Handle patient situations over the phone, schedule appointments and procedures with medical professionals, and understand limitations in dealing with patients over the phone.
  • Register new patients and establish medical records, prepare patient billings, and assist patients with filling out insurance and other forms.
  • Collect and process routine laboratory specimens, operate and maintain clinical equipment, and maintain aseptic technique.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
  • Previous experience in office or outpatient ambulatory care setting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Computer skills strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to participate in evening, weekend, and holiday coverage according to needs of the department.
Qualifications
  • American Association Medical Assistants (AAMA) certified - CMA designation OR American Medical Technologists (AMT) registered - RMA designation OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant plus 12 month D-H apprenticeship program - CCMA designation.
  • Current BLS certification required.
