Job Summary

The City of Peoria is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician II to join our Public Works team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing technical engineering tasks to ensure public safety and quality infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee development and maintenance projects to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Review and issue right-of-way permits, asset inventory, and condition assessments
  • Maintain permitting, asset management, and other data and systems
  • Resolve citizen complaints and assist with field analysis
  • Perform construction-related fieldwork and create reports
Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Five or more years of progressively related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of basic principles and practices of construction and/or traffic engineering
  • Experience with computer-aided drafting (CAD), global positioning system (GPS), and geographic information system (GIS) hardware and software
  • Recordkeeping, report preparation, filing methods, and records management techniques
