Job Summary:

PrideStaff is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join their team in Asheville. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing patient care by assisting providers to interview, diagnose, and treat patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare for patient visits by obtaining relevant records, such as immunization records, specialist visits, and ED visits.
  • Initiate patient visits by introducing yourself, showing the patient to an exam room, and measuring vital signs.
  • Interview patients to gather details about their history of present illness and establish their reason for the visit.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed by a physician and with parental consent.
  • Collect blood or other laboratory specimens for diagnostic tests.
  • Provide patient education on administering medications, pursuing outside diagnostic testing, and other relevant topics.
  • Ensure all pertinent information is included in the patient's chart prior to their arrival.
  • Record all information provided by the patient and/or parent/guardian during the visit.
  • Clean exam rooms, stock exam rooms with supplies, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification or degree as a CMA or LPN
  • Certification as a CNA will be considered
  • Customer-focused
