Disability Support Worker

This role is an exciting opportunity to work with individuals with disabilities in a supportive environment. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for assisting with coordination and staff participation in daily program activities.

Responsibilities:
- Delivers purposeful age-appropriate activities and supports for participants.
- Implements activities using specified training techniques and interventions related to social interaction skills, personal hygiene training, motor skill coordination, and activities etc.
- Provides participants with personal care/hygiene support as needed.
- Provides direct training, supervision, and support to participants during all activities when assigned staff is absent or need additional assistance.
- Encourages active participation of participants in daily routines and activities through coaching of staff and positive behavioral participant support.
- Accompanies assigned participants on group activities/outings and provides transportation either in private vehicle or Agency vehicle when required.
- Completes all documentation for assigned consumers in a timely manner.
- Identifies program problem areas and recommends solutions to program Supervisor.
- Attends all training sessions and staff meetings as may be required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School / GED graduation required.
- One year of experience working with persons with disabilities preferred.
- Medication Administration certified or will obtain within 60 days of starting date and maintains certification throughout employment completing continuing education and recertification requirements as defined by SOAR365 in a timely manner.
- DSP employment for the Respite program is a hybrid role, rotating weekday and weekend shifts - and overnight shifts as needed.
Estimated Salary: $45,000-$55,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
