This is a full-time position with rotating shifts between day and evening hours, including weekends and holidays.

Unit Description:

The role is situated within our Coronary Care Unit (CCU), which features 56 private rooms organized into five distinct pods. Each pod is equipped with its own nursing station, medication area, and utility rooms to ensure efficient patient care.

Patient Care Responsibilities:

The CCU is designed to cater to patients requiring specialized care, including:

  • Telemetry and hardwire monitoring for critical patients.
  • Management of patients undergoing advanced therapies such as IABP, TTM, and CRRT.
  • Care for patients with mechanical ventilation and hemodynamic monitoring.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, coordinating care, and supervising support staff to ensure the highest standards of nursing practice.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess:

  • A degree from an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Ohio.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized provider.
  • Preferred membership in a professional nursing organization.
Key Responsibilities:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will:

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Demonstrate leadership and contribute to the professional development of nursing staff.

Skills Required:

Proficiency in computer systems is essential, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
