Clinical Nurse

Carle Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse to join our Family Medicine team. As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, working closely with healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist healthcare providers with patient care, preparing patients for examinations, treatments, and minor surgical procedures.
Demonstrate competence in clinical skills, including drawing blood and collecting samples for laboratory analysis.
Apply the Nursing Process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care within licensure guidelines.
Provide telephone triage, offering advice on home care and documenting patient progress as needed.
Administer vaccines and medications, place urinary catheters and IVs per protocol and license.
Schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services as requested by healthcare providers.
Complete necessary forms and requisitions for referrals or lab testing, including CPT/ICD-9 coding.
Understand inpatient and outpatient specialty procedures, ensuring compliance with precertification requirements.
Track follow-up appointments related to office visits, lab tests, and procedures to monitor disease status.
Provide timely documentation in the patient's electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
Supervise delegated duties to LPNs and CMAs on approved clinical protocols.
Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety, and Risk Management guidelines.
Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service, striving to exceed customer expectations.
Provide education to patients and families using the Teach-back method per protocols and guidelines.
Participate in department-specific improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to provide world-class patient experience.
Meet quality metric goals at the clinic level.
Requirements:
College diploma in Nursing, ADN, or BSN
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in the state of IL upon hire
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work as a team member
Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures
Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred
Strong computer skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
