Wellspring Lutheran Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Preservation Specialist to join our team. As a Family Preservation Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting families throughout mid-Michigan, including Ingham, Shiawassee, and Livingston counties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the MiFT program model of service, focusing on a strength-based, non-deficit approach.
  • Provide and assist families in obtaining concrete services, such as housing, transportation, home cleaning, maintenance, and repair.
  • Deliver skills training, including parenting, self-advocacy, self-sufficiency, and communication.
  • Offer short-term counseling and crisis intervention for families.
  • Maintain face-to-face contact with families according to the contract-defined frequency and individual needs.
  • Prepare documentation, such as service plans, progress reports, termination summaries, goal sheets, weekly plans, time reports, and letters, within the appropriate time frames.
  • Collaborate with referring workers to ensure seamless support for families.
  • Conduct follow-up evaluations of families at 3 and 6 months following service.
  • Transport clients in your own vehicle, as needed.
