Job Title: Plant Operations Manager

Kraft Tool Company is a leading manufacturer and distributor of quality concrete and construction hand tools for professional and homeowner use. Our organization has an opening for a dynamic leader to manage our midsize facility employing nearly 250 employees across one shift.

Job Summary:

The Plant Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the plant's operations, ensuring customer orders and company products are processed and shipped in accordance with planned schedules, job specifications, established quality standards, and planned profit objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor plant activities to ensure effective use of available resources to meet production schedules for customer orders and inventory requirements.
  • Review production reports and resolve any issues to ensure quality standards. Create and implement strategies to improve performance and production based on the production report.
  • Analyze and review manufacturing operation procedures to develop and implement improvement strategies.
  • Implement companywide policies, goals, objectives, and procedures in conjunction with company management.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Operations Manager to develop plant fiscal budgets.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations.
  • Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Responsibility for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to determine whether operations allow for a new product or product applications.
  • Consult with HR when making employment decisions on hiring, promotion, transfers, training, and development, disciplinary action, terminations, and pay adjustments; monitor performance by completing new hire and annual performance evaluations.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience as a plant manager or supervisor.
  • 5 years of experience in non-managerial industrial positions.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a field related to either.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in mechanical engineering, bachelors in business.
  • 5 years of experience in tool manufacturing production.
  • Demonstrate key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization, and decision making. Strong leadership skills combined with the ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with people, projects, and issues. Ability to listen and communicate effectively. Ability to lead people. Ability to actively engage by means of discovery, process, and/or application of new information.
