Our Office of Advanced Practice Providers (OAPP) supports over 1,000 advanced practice providers, and we're seeking a talented Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Kidney Transplant Clinic team.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality outpatient care to patients in our Kidney Transplant Clinic. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care. Previous experience in transplant care is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations, including psychological status.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient plans of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic studies.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers on current care and preventive health measures.
  • Collaborate with research projects and protocols, and apply evidence-based best practices to patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a master's degree or higher in nursing or a related field, with documentation of completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
  • Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • Current applicable American Heart Association or American Red Cross Life Support certification(s) based on UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
