Position: Engineering Project Leader

Overview:

Kleinfelder is seeking a proactive Engineering Project Leader to enhance our Mid-Atlantic Engineering Group. This role requires a meticulous individual dedicated to achieving project excellence.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to motivate and guide a team, are essential for success in this position. The projects will involve various disciplines, with a preference for candidates with experience in the energy sector.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project pursuits, allocate suitable resources, identify client requirements, address concerns, and oversee engineering teams within budget constraints.
  • Facilitate technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for cross-functional teams, ensuring adherence to company quality standards while maximizing client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and contracts for complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Lead, mentor, and support staff in achieving their professional development goals.
  • Innovate solutions to challenges encountered during project execution.
  • Oversee all stages of project delivery, including organization, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, financial oversight, safety management, and reporting.
  • Collaborate on design and construction management initiatives, focusing on continuous process improvement.
  • Establish effective communication channels with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in civil design, permitting, or construction across diverse projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience, including client interaction, billing, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Proven ability to manage projects across various business units and work collaboratively in team environments.
  • Detail-oriented with a holistic understanding of project programs.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills are required.
  • Familiarity with permitting processes and engagement with state and local agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and sustain client relationships.
  • Experience in business development, utilizing standard tools for strategic client engagement and proposal efforts.
  • Capable of identifying and resolving internal and external issues and conflicts.

Education:
Preferred: B.S. degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience:
Required: Minimum of 8 years in related design/engineering roles and 5 years in project management. Experience in the energy sector is advantageous but not mandatory.

Certifications:
Professional Engineer designation is preferred but not required.
