Emergency Department Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Tech to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our emergency department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Job Summary:The Emergency Department Tech will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and assisting with procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, restocking supplies, and communicating effectively with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and assisting with procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, restocking supplies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other support staff.
- Assist with patient transportation, including wheelchairs and carts.
- Perform point-of-care testing, as needed.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure adequate coverage in the emergency department.
- Certified as EMT-P or CNA with 1-2 years of hospital or pre-hospital patient care experience.
- Ability to use keyboard and see computer screen.
- Ability to move/lift patients and push carts, etc.
- Current CPR certification.
This position requires completion of the age-specific competency and may experience unpleasant odors, exposures to blood-borne, air-borne pathogens, and opportunistic pathogens. Must be able to transport by wheelchair and cart all patient population, including bariatrics.
