Our inventory comprises hundreds of thousands of vehicles across North America, from retail to commercial, OEM, and more.

Role and Team

As an Auto Mechanic, you will report to the Mechanical Services Manager or designated manager and perform proper diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles assigned to you. You will maintain consistently high standards on quality, efficiency, and safety.

Responsibilities
  • A/C & Heater: Operate the system, recognize cooling or heating issues, perform basic system checks, and identify Freon and oil leaks.
  • Brakes: Identify brake system components, visually inspect brakes, identify irregular noises and leaks, perform simple system tests, measure lining, drums, rotors, cams, road test for proper operation, check fluid level, adjust service and park brakes, and perform repair.
  • Electrical Charging Systems: Visually inspect batteries, clean connections, check belt condition, test batteries, check alternator mounting and pulley, replace and adjust belts, and perform basic charging system checks.
  • Clutch: Lubricate bearing, linkage, shafts, and cables, and identify proper clutch operation.
  • Cooling Systems: Check and adjust coolant levels, antifreeze requirements, visually inspect system for leaks, make minor repairs, and pressure test.
  • Electrical Cranking System: Inspect/test batteries, cables, and motor, clean battery cables and connections, check, charge, and replace batteries, repair/replace defective cables, and read wiring schematics.
  • Lighting System and Electrical Accessories: Repair minor wiring problems, replace bulbs, lenses, and simple light assemblies, adjust/replace sealed beams, and install/replace accessories.
  • Drive Axles: Inspect housings for leaks, change oil and filter, and clean breathers.
  • Driveline: Lubricate drive line, inspect components for wear or damage.
  • Gas Engines: Check and adjust oil levels, identify unusual noises and oil leaks.
  • Fuel Systems: Replace and prime fuel filter, check gas and diesel fuel system components for proper integrity and condition.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform proper lube techniques, minimal tire inspection, brake check/applied stroke, battery check, under vehicle check/lose components, and initial fault code identification.
  • Tire and Wheel Maintenance: Perform air pressure checks, check tread depth, identify tires that need to be changed or repaired, perform tire checks, replace tire and wheel assemblies, mount/dismount, and rotate tires.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
