About the Role:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead initiatives for the daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment. This individual will be responsible for leading the integration of new products within production, meeting new product integration timelines and production goals. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional and cross-site teams to evaluate, troubleshoot, and implement manufacturing processes within the business unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing on complex projects to ensure project success.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex problems of diverse scope to meet department goals.
  • Complete complex engineering work and contribute to new product development teams and product support.
  • Ensure new products introduced to the production floor meet business, quality, output, and cost goals and objectives.
  • Select process improvement techniques to solve technical problems and make sound equipment and process recommendations.
  • Design and coordinate applicable engineering tests and experiments.
  • Summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from complex test results.
  • Design and prepare engineering reports and communicate results to technical and leadership audiences.
  • Coordinate, manage, and document project goals and progress and recommend appropriate revisions.
  • Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment.
  • Complete and manage Capital Equipment Request Authorizations (CERAs).
  • Lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Identify, implement, and manage Business Unit goals and actively contribute to the development of Business Unit's multi-year strategy.
  • Train team members, including engineers, technicians, and product builders on specific tasks.
  • Participate in the development of junior staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing, process, or related engineering experience.
  • Experience solving advanced technical problems.
  • Experience qualifying complex equipment.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong bias for action and ability to effectively prioritize work and deliver business results in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing problem-solving and process improvement tools such as DMAIC and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing.
  • Experience with Minitab or other data analysis, statistical, and process improvement tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 5%.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree.
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing technologies such as shape forming metals & plastics, laser welding, ultrasonic welding, adhesives, injection molding, laser marking, inkjet printing, laser cutting, pad printing, and sterile barrier sealing.
  • Basic knowledge of automation, PLC programming (Allen-Bradley), and machine vision systems (Cognex & Keyence).
  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Solidworks.
  • Basic knowledge or business intelligence software such as PowerBI and Tableau.
  • Experience working in PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle Management software or comparable platform.
  • Demonstrated effective communication with multiple stakeholders at different levels within the organization and with suppliers and equipment vendors.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
