About the Job:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Attendant I in the City of Charlottesville's Parks and Recreation department. As a Customer Service Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to visitors at one of our recreation centers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Greet guests and answer questions in person and over the phone.
  • Explain our programs, services, and benefits to customers.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of program areas, patrons, and other staff as needed.
  • Lead or supervise a program, class, event, fitness area, or activity when required.
  • Maintain order by enforcing rules and regulations, and assist with implementing programs, classes, events, and activities.

Requirements:

  • Age: 18 years old or older.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least three months of experience in a recreation or similar environment as a recreation/activity assistant, or three months of experience as a cashier using a computer system.
