Role Overview:
As a Cashier at Carson Oil Company, you will be responsible for managing the cash register, operating the Oregon lottery machine, and handling credit card transactions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist customers, retrieve products, and support fuel dispensing operations.
- Ensure accurate accounting of all cash, tobacco products, and lottery tickets during your shift.
- Perform light cleaning duties, including trash collection, window washing, and maintaining the cleanliness of the store, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
- Restock and price merchandise as needed.
- Check expiration dates and organize product displays.
- Receive deliveries from vendors and manage inventory.
- Issue checks as required.
- Demonstrate leadership skills within the team.
- Operate fuel dispensers and manage propane sales.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be available during all operating hours, which include evenings and weekends. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to sell age-restricted products.
Skills Required:
- Proficient in handling cash and performing basic math calculations.
- Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs regularly.
- Experience with operating fuel pumps, cash registers, and food preparation equipment.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively.
- Consistent attendance and reliability are essential.
