We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the University of Central Oklahoma. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair duties, including light carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance and repairs, to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
- Assist employees with internal moves and perform setups to accommodate the needs of customers.
- Maintain waste and recycling receptacles, and work with outside contractors as needed.
- Perform general maintenance duties for residence halls, dining facilities, and apartment buildings.
- Utilize a basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to determine and communicate the scope of repairs needed.
- Requires general education or vocational training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team, depending on project needs.
- Good base knowledge of all phases of maintenance and repair, and the tools and techniques utilized for various projects.
This position requires a physical and the ability to work in areas with fumes or airborne particles and toxic and/or caustic chemicals. The physical demands of this position include the ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally, and to walk regularly for long periods of time across the campus.
