Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Scale Technician to join our team at Geneva Rock Products, Inc. in Ogden, UT. As a Scale Technician, you will be responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of our scales at various locations in commercial and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support, improve, and standardize scales within our production facilities.
  • Install and repair components related to scale operations.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on scale systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and provide solutions.
  • May participate in the teardown and setup of batch plants.
  • Keep up to date with industry codes and standards and ensure compliance in all work.
  • Communicate with customers to understand their needs and provide recommendations.
  • Train and mentor less experienced team members, as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain tools and equipment required to perform duties.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Operate forklift and aerial equipment to complete job.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of scale functions and operation.
  • Familiarity with a variety of scales and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of fabrication.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, if required.
  • Knowledge of scale operations and repair, including their electrical systems.
  • Maintain a valid CDL driver's license.
  • Maintain a valid DOT medical card.
  • Must be able to safely lift 65 pounds.
  • Attention and commitment to safety, ability to follow instructions and work long hours.
Working Conditions
  • Scale Technicians work both indoors and outdoors, often in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • The work may require standing, kneeling, or bending for long periods of time.
  • Scale Technicians work full-time and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • The work may require travel to different job sites.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 65 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
