We are currently seeking a skilled Medication Support Specialist to join our team at TerraBella Lake Norman. As a Medication Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing medication administration and supporting their daily needs.

Job Summary:

The Medication Support Specialist will be responsible for administering medications, observing residents for changes in condition, and reporting any concerns to the nurse or Health and Wellness Director. This role also involves providing hands-on care, physical and emotional support to residents, and maintaining a safe and comfortable home-like environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Caregiver Responsibilities: Provide direct care to residents, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), responding to call bells, and notifying supervisors of resident concerns.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, document medication passes, and maintain confidentiality of resident medication information.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe residents for changes in condition, report concerns to the nurse or Health and Wellness Director, and document observations.
  • Continence Management: Assist with continence management, dispose of continence products properly, and maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas.
  • Laundry and Housekeeping: Assist with laundry duties and maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with healthcare teams, respond to resident requests, and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Certification: Current Medication Aide certification required; Certified Nurse's Aide certification preferred.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Certifications: CPR certification preferred; First Aid certification preferred.
