Maintenance Mechanic Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is a critical role within our facilities team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mechanical systems. This includes maintaining and repairing stationary engines, boilers, compressors, generators, and air handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and ensure the proper operation of boilers, air handling systems, emergency generators, and closed-loop systems.
  • Perform safety testing as required for mechanical systems.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and within the required time period, achieving a 95% work order completion rate.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Report any abnormalities in equipment to the assigned supervisor.
  • Cover vacation, sick, and holiday shifts for other maintenance staff.
  • Understand schematics, blueprints, and codes for the equipment maintained.
  • Troubleshoot and repair air handling equipment using the right tools, following manufacturer recommendations and repair manuals.

  • Complete work assignments within an acceptable time frame.
  • Use time and resources to the best possible advantage for successful completion of job responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain efficient working relationships.
  • Be reliable in respect to attendance and punctuality.

Requirements:
  • Prefer at least two years of experience in HVAC-related maintenance.
  • Must be willing to complete all hospital-required training.
