The Department of Medicine, in collaboration with the Peggy and Harold Katz Family Drug Discovery Center, is seeking a part-time Research Assistant to contribute to innovative projects focused on nephrology. While prior research experience is not mandatory, a sincere enthusiasm for kidney health and a readiness to engage in scientific inquiry are crucial. This role is part-time and is limited to a duration of one year.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Literature Review: Conduct thorough reviews of existing literature to compile insights on nephrology. This includes analyzing scientific publications and identifying areas for further research.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Support the gathering and examination of data pertaining to kidney diseases. This may involve executing experiments, collecting patient information, or evaluating pre-existing datasets. You will gain experience in statistical methods to interpret and present research outcomes.
- Laboratory Support: Aid in laboratory functions, which includes preparing solutions, maintaining laboratory equipment, and adhering to safety regulations. You will collaborate with seasoned researchers to acquire laboratory skills pertinent to nephrology studies.
- Research Project Support: Work alongside senior researchers in the design and execution of research initiatives. Responsibilities may include developing research protocols, participant recruitment, and assisting with data collection.
- Documentation and Reporting: Help prepare research documentation, presentations, and manuscripts for publication. You will learn to effectively convey research findings and contribute to the body of knowledge in nephrology.
