We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Sonic Anatomic Pathology in Birmingham, Alabama.

About the Role:

  • As a Laboratory Specialist, you will play a vital part in the patient care process by preparing and analyzing human tissue surgical specimens.
  • You will be responsible for recognizing when corrective action is needed and implementing effective solutions in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Your expertise will also involve championing safety, compliance, and quality control, ensuring that our laboratory meets the highest standards.

About You:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Pathologists' Assistant program from a NCCLS accredited institution.
  • 1 year of laboratory experience grossing all tissue types from simple to complex is preferred.
  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists BOC is required.
  • You possess strong reading, writing, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to operate general laboratory equipment.
