Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Performance Driven Workforce. As an Automotive Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, adjusting, and calibrating sensors, shunts, fiber optics, accelerometers, and data acquisition systems in development vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and installing low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring harnesses, auxiliary battery and electrical systems
  • Installing, adjusting, and calibrating sensors, shunts, fiber optics, accelerometers, and data acquisition systems
  • Collaborating with customers, fabricators, and mechanics to identify required locations for sensor installation according to Instrumentation Requirement List (IRL)
  • Assisting in performing complete functional inspection and prove-out of instrumentation according to Instrumentation Quality Assurance (IQA)
  • Diagnosing faulty low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring systems and repair
  • Working with electronic functional and measurement tools, such as power supplies, function generators, and multimeter
  • Maintaining records by entering notes into service repair requests
  • Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of Instrumentation Technician experience
  • Able to follow any procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects, such as work requests, shop procedures and/or shop manuals, publications or schematic diagrams
  • Have good organizational skills
  • Be a self-starter & self-motivated
  • Experience performing soldering, crimping, tube bending, component layout, and packaging on vehicles or subsystems
  • Possess the skills to work in a team atmosphere & learn new tasks
  • Have excellent communication & time management skills
  • Have reliable attendance & be able to work overtime/weekends
  • Must have good attention to detail

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of proper installation of thermocouples and pressure transducers
  • ASE /State certifications
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
