Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess a high school diploma and three to five years of relevant experience in landscape maintenance, with a preference for candidates who have supervisory experience.
  • Completion of a certificate or degree program in landscape design or horticulture is advantageous. Additional professional certifications in landscape management are also beneficial. Relevant hands-on experience in grounds maintenance is acceptable.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is essential, including familiarity with WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK.
  • A valid driver's license for the state of Florida is required; a commercial class B motor vehicle license is preferred.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including heavy lifting and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment as needed.
  • A Florida pesticide applicator's license is mandatory.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with a positive demeanor for guest service and team interactions.
  • Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the maintenance of landscape equipment are highly valued, as this position involves direct oversight of these tasks.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional guest service, coupled with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, assigning, and supervising the grounds team as necessary.
  • Oversee the grounds maintenance crew during campus clean-up initiatives and support special event projects as needed.
  • Provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all assigned work areas.
  • Instruct team members on the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Operate all landscape-related machinery as required.
  • Ensure routine maintenance is conducted on all motorized equipment, including daily start-up and shut-down procedures, equipment care, and maintaining a clean workspace.
  • Be prepared to report to work under emergency conditions as necessary.
  • Supervise the maintenance and care of lawns, shrubs, trees, and other landscape features, including planting, removal, and pest control.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
Safety Responsibilities:

The Landscape Operations Supervisor is accountable for ensuring a safe working environment for all grounds personnel. It is essential that all team members actively participate in maintaining safety standards for themselves and their colleagues.
