The Emergency Planning Director will be responsible for facilitating the development, review, and updates of emergency plans within the DOTD Emergency Operations Section. Key responsibilities will include enhancing preparedness measures, ensuring the organization's ability to respond effectively to various emergency scenarios. Additionally, the successful candidate will coordinate with external agencies, such as GOHSEP, FHWA, and FEMA, to stay current on any changes to programs, regulations, and guidance relating to debris management and Damage Assessment Team operational procedures.
About the Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as experience working in an emergency operations center. A valid Louisiana driver's license is required, and certifications in FEMA IS 100, IS 200, IS 700, IS 800, ICS 300, and ICS 400 courses are preferred. Five years of emergency management experience, including disaster/emergency response planning, is also required.
