Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Substitute School Nurse to join our team at Sunset Ridge School District 29. As a Substitute School Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer first aid and medication to students as needed, following state laws and district policies.
  • Assess student health situations and refer for proper treatment, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Develop and implement health care plans for students with chronic health issues, accommodating their needs and requirements.
  • Maintain confidential student records, including health care plans, agency referrals, and immunization records.
  • Monitor students with illnesses or injuries, providing immediate care and follow-up services.
  • Provide specialized care to students with chronic illnesses, allergies, or other high-risk conditions.
  • Refer students requiring additional medical attention, ensuring follow-up treatment and services.
  • Report health and safety concerns to administrators and relevant agencies, maintaining a safe learning environment.
  • Respond to emergency medical situations, ensuring prompt and proper care.

Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
  • Experience working with children is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
