About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team at Capital One. As a key member of our Enterprise Platforms Technology group, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our enterprise network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design, build, and test of new WiFi deployments, network upgrades, and technology/platform evaluations.
  • Create technical design documents and implementation plans.
  • Work with the security organization to assess exposure, identify mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with all relevant security configuration standards.
  • Provide escalation/oncall support to the wireless network operations team.
  • Provide input to enterprise network design standards and maintain documentation.
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
  • At least 6 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory).
  • At least 4 years of experience with AWS.
  • At least 2 years of team leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of WLAN technologies, network management, and security, including b/g/n/ac standards and industry best practices.
  • Experience implementing high-density WiFi solutions.
  • Fundamental knowledge of security protocols and authentication (WPA2, EAP-TLS, 802.1x, AAA).
  • 3+ years of DevOps Engineering experience.
  • 2+ experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby).
  • 2+ Experience with deploying clustered web services.
  • 2+ years experience working within Agile Development Practices.
