Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (U) plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services at The University of Miami. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will assist nursing personnel with various patient care activities, ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal hygiene, vital sign monitoring, and bed linen changes.
  • Provide safe transportation of patients to various areas of the hospital.
  • Verify patient identification, chart, and sending slips to ensure accurate care.
  • Assist patients with positioning and skin preps for medical procedures.
  • Clean and prepare surgical suites, disinfect stretchers, and maintain a clean environment.
  • Support supply needs by receiving and restocking supplies in all areas.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the surgical suite and operating rooms.
  • Empty trash containers, suction canister boxes, and replace bags and boxes throughout the day.
  • Manage the attendant's supply room, ensuring necessary solutions for cleaning, maintenance, and other tasks.
  • Maintain inventory of wet vacuum hoses, floor tools, and brushes.
  • Mop floors between surgical procedures.
  • Clean patient pantry and dining area, and empty trash.
  • Return equipment to the storage room and maintain a tidy environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
