Key Responsibilities
  • Primary Care Provision: Provide comprehensive primary care services, including health history taking, physical examinations, and management of physical and psychosocial problems.
  • Gynecologic Care: Perform gynecologic screening examinations and diagnostic examinations for gynecologic problems, offering family planning and STD counseling and services.
  • Mental Health Support: Assess and counsel families and individuals with mental health problems.
  • Medication Management: Furnish and adjust medications in accordance with the law.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Order diagnostic studies such as laboratory and radiologic tests, as needed.
  • Patient Education: Provide patient education and counseling on health-related topics.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of patient care.
  • Collaboration: Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program. Master's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Certification: Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with preference given to those with experience in rural health care settings.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
