  • The selected candidate will commence their role immediately following the interview process.
  • This position requires full-time presence in the Baltimore office.
  • Standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities of the Controller:
  • Oversee the initiation of new projects and input project budgets into the financial system.
  • Conduct month-end closing procedures, including reconciliations for all bank accounts, creating Work in Progress (WIP) reports, and entering necessary journal entries to finalize each accounting period.
  • Prepare and evaluate financial statements and accompanying schedules in accordance with the monthly closing timeline.
  • Assist in the formulation of the annual budget and provide monthly analysis of budget discrepancies.
  • Handle accounts receivable tasks, including contract assessments for requisition requirements, supervising invoice processing, preparing AIA requisitions, and managing client collections.
  • Process and review payroll on a weekly basis.
  • Analyze job cost reports and budgets while assessing potential financial risks.
  • Engage in monthly meetings with project managers to discuss financial performance.
  • Conduct audits and deliver evaluations on project financials upon project completion.
  • Manage weekly cash flow and generate forecasts of revenue and cash flow for executive management.
  • Ensure the implementation of internal controls.
  • Collaborate with external CPA firms to review financial statements and tax documentation.

Qualifications for the Controller Position:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is mandatory; a Master's degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of senior-level accounting experience within the construction industry is required.
  • Proficiency in Sage Timberline is essential; familiarity with Procore is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a supervisory role is necessary.
