Job Summary:
As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team at Forrest General Hospital, the Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Reporting directly to the CT Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing patient examinations and related activities in accordance with established protocols. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of digital environments, review images prior to archiving, and maintain accurate patient records. Additionally, they will ensure the correct patient is being imaged, adhere to hospital protocols, and provide a clean and safe environment for patients.

Responsibilities:
• Perform patient examinations and related activities in accordance with established protocols.
• Review images prior to archiving and ensure accurate patient records.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
• Ensure the correct patient is being imaged in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Provide student technologists with basic procedural concepts within responsible modality.
• Share emergency call as required.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill to appropriately communicate and interact with patients, families, visitors, and vendors of all age groups.
• Knowledgeable of Radiation Safety ALARA principles and practice.
• Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently in a fast-paced CT/ED CT departmental setting.
• Demonstrate the aptitude for assisting radiologists as needed throughout biopsy or drainage procedures.
• Demonstrate the ability to tolerate physically demanding tasks of moving patients utilizing safety measures.
• Demonstrate effective, professional, courteous communication skills with radiologists, ordering physicians, and interdepartmental staff.
• Demonstrate proper usage of radiation protection devices.

Requirements:
• Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology required.
• One year of experience as a staff technologist preferred.
• CT scanning experience preferred.
• Certification/Licensure: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R.T. (R) Radiography, CT Certification, and Basic Life Support (within 30 days of employment).
