As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in upholding Covenant House Texas' mission to provide shelter, support, and hope to homeless, abused, and abandoned youth. Your expertise will contribute directly to the well-being of vulnerable young people seeking refuge and guidance.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all building systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, ensuring prompt restoration of functionality.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Order and manage materials needed for repairs and projects, adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintain agency vehicles, ensuring they are in safe and operational condition.
  • Provide on-call support for after-hours emergencies and weekend call-outs.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a secure work environment.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years of experience as a maintenance worker with one year in HVAC and refrigeration.
  • EPA certification required.
  • Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and drywall repairs, with experience in minor construction projects.
  • Ability to obtain a Low-Pressure Boiler Operator License within 90 days of employment.
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (over 50 lbs).
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
