Job Title: Roadway Construction Inspector

Dewberry is seeking a skilled Roadway Construction Inspector to join our Transportation Group in Rancho Cordova, CA.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect federally funded roadway construction projects in California, with a focus on asphalt paving and hot mix asphalt overlays, and traffic control.
  • Identify and develop solutions to field issues, ensuring project progress.
  • Prepare and process construction records, including RFIs, submittals, progress pay applications, extra work billings, and contract change orders.
  • Document field activities and collaborate with owners and contractors to represent Dewberry and clients.
  • Familiarity with MS Word and Excel for completing daily diaries, quantity calculations, and other tasks.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Relevant project experience on transportation, utility, and Caltrans Local Assistance projects.
  • Knowledge of Caltrans 2018 specifications, policies, and procedures, HMA material testing methods, and roadway construction means and methods.
  • Experience with night work, lane closures, and COZEEP coordination a plus.

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to pass a driving record background check.
