Key Role:
Facilitate the comprehensive development of a system of interest, which may include both hardware and software components, throughout its entire life cycle. This includes defining requirements, operational phases, and eventual system decommissioning, with a strong focus on engaging domain experts, managing risks and opportunities, and customizing processes to align with specific project needs. Implement model-based systems engineering (MBSE) principles throughout the system development life cycle to create products, including those that are safety-critical. Collaborate with team members, team leads, clients, and suppliers to devise solutions for a range of moderate complexity challenges. Engineer systems that bolster our client's digital engineering objectives. Provide technical guidance in engineering for problem identification, analysis, requirements formulation, and execution for intricate systems within the engineering discipline necessary to achieve technical goals. Design model-based systems and create digital models and architectures in alignment with government-defined systems. Lead an MBSE team in the development of complex integrated systems. Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in supporting the design, development, and evaluation of systems engineering design artifacts
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or MBSE
- 2+ years of experience in architecting solutions based on user requirements and use cases applicable across the systems engineering life cycle
- 2+ years of experience utilizing requirements management tools, such as IBM DOORS NG or Jama Connect, and MBSE tools, such as MagicDraw/Cameo, IBM Rhapsody, or Sparx EA
- 1+ years of experience with analytical tools, such as MATLAB, STK, or ModelCenter
- Proficiency in the practical application of Unified Modeling Language (UML) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
- Understanding of fundamental systems and digital engineering concepts regarding the application of engineering models throughout the lifecycle, authoritative lifecycle data, tool chains, digital threads, and digital twins
- Capability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, dynamic team environment, including internal personnel, external contractors, and government clients, to enhance the application of MBSE for client acquisition programs, perform various systems engineering and program management functions in support of product design development and evaluations, identify and manage technical risks, develop technical documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement recommended solutions
- Eligibility to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in conceptualizing military challenges, breaking down high-level mission systems modeling, and creating detailed designs in a systems model to facilitate product development
- Experience in developing safety-critical applications based on standards such as ARP-4754, ARP-4761, DO-178, DO-254, and MIL-STD-882
- Familiarity with engineering tools, including PLM/PDM systems like TeamCenter or Windchill, digital engineering tools such as SBE Vision or Syndeia, modeling and simulation tools like ModelCenter or Dassault 3DS, and CAD software like SolidWorks or CATIA
- Experience in defining a digital engineering ecosystem, encompassing the underlying infrastructure, tool selection, process development, and utilization
- Knowledge of modeling frameworks such as DoDAF or UAF
- Awareness of linking analytical and engineering tools within a digital thread
- Understanding of modular open systems approach (MOSA) design principles and technologies, The Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Approach, DoD architecture standards and frameworks, and Agile systems engineering methods and tools
- Familiarity with systems engineering standards, including IEEE
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP
- OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification
