Job Overview

Expeditors is a leading global logistics company that connects businesses with the information and resources they need to succeed. As an Ocean Import Agent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and timely flow of freight through our transportation cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the importation of ocean freight, ensuring accurate and timely data entry into our operational system.
  • Track and trace shipments, ensuring documents are sent and arrival notices are communicated to overseas and customers.
  • Interact with customers to arrange international shipments, meeting customer service standards.
  • Contribute to maintaining good relationships with suppliers, including ocean carriers, trucking companies, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, both internal and external, in accordance with government requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity, implementing best practices to drive results.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, ensuring all customers' requirements are met.
  • Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) in accordance with the Company's procedures.
Requirements
  • Customer service experience, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
  • Operations/industry knowledge is preferred but not required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, communicate clearly, and concisely to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Pro-active, strong organizational skills, with a focus on analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
