Job Title: General Earthwork Superintendent

Quality Enterprises USA, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled General Earthwork Superintendent to oversee and coordinate the work of multiple crews for mass excavation, detailed excavation, rough and final grading, and demolition of miscellaneous structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead multiple earthwork crews, ensuring all aspects of work are completed according to project plans.
  • Ensure assigned work progresses on schedule and communicate expectations and responsibilities to crew foremen.
  • Promote a safe work culture by maintaining safe working conditions according to OSHA and company regulations.
  • Oversee work schedules for crews, complete feedback sessions for new superintendents, and conduct six-month and annual reviews for earthwork superintendents.
  • Anticipate scheduling needs and potential issues three weeks in advance, communicate with upper management, and prepare and submit required daily reports and paperwork.
  • Maintain Quality Enterprises' image and positive relationship with the community through site cleanliness and promote environmental responsibility at the jobsite and among crew members.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in all aspects of earthwork, mass excavation, detailed excavation, and material management.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment.
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to manage personnel and equipment efficiently.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including assigning, scheduling, directing, and inspecting work, rewarding or disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving conflicts on large and complex projects.
  • Effective planning and problem-solving skills, competent in reading and understanding civil construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proven experience with scheduling, ordering, field supervision, safety management, quality control, and budgeting of all phases of civil construction.
  • Strong decision-making skills, familiarity with DOT regulations and standards, excellent time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with bilingual ability a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or similar field, along with five years of experience in major heavy highway or bridge construction, including at least three years as a foreman or superintendent.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) along with ten years of experience in major heavy highway or bridge construction, including at least three years as a foreman or superintendent.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of time working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
