Telecare Corporation is seeking a skilled and compassionate LVN Utilization Review Nurse to join our team at the Santa Cruz County Psychiatric Health Facility. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our members receive the highest quality care and support.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure that care provided is appropriate and medically necessary
- Review members' admission data and clinical documentation to ensure compliance with county and state regulations
- Interview members' significant others and consult with existing outpatient team when necessary
- Consult with psychiatrist and medical staff regarding members' diagnosis, medical justification, length of treatment, and case documentation
- Assess records for appropriate level of care and treatment, aftercare, and discharge planning for members
- Presents any treatment plan disagreements to the treatment team
- Advocates for required members' treatment with medical providers
- Provides training and information about utilization requirements to clinical, supervisory, and management staff
- Participates with departmental staff in utilization and quality improvement meetings and projects
- Graduation from accredited LVN program
- Two (2) years of acute inpatient psychiatric nursing experience
- Current LVN State license
- Current BLS certification
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
- Utilization Review Nurse experience preferred
The physical demands of this position include sitting, squatting, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting items weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity, repetition, and good judgment in a high-stress environment.
